Learn moreA particular focus of the practice. Validity, registration, lobola disputes, property consequences and dissolution.
Learn moreParenting plans, care and contact, maintenance, surrogacy and adoption support, with the children's interests at the centre.
Learn moreElize is a trained and experienced mediator. Where possible, disputes are resolved through settlement rather than a court battle.
Learn moreUrgent assistance with protection orders in cases of domestic violence and harassment, handled with care and discretion.
Learn moreInternational travelling of minors, overseas maintenance claims, and divorce and contact cases across borders.
Learn moreFamily matters are personal. The firm follows modern approaches of mediation, negotiation and settlement, because most families are better served by agreement than by litigation.
But when a matter cannot be settled, it does not hesitate to use the assistance of the courts and to litigate, with High Court appearance rights and court work across the region.
Before she was an attorney, Elize was a registered nurse: 13 years at the University of Stellenbosch, focused on psychiatric and community nursing, working with people in some of the most difficult times of their lives.
That background shapes how she practises law. Admitted in 2000, in practice for herself since 2004, and on the Garden Route since 2015, she has built a firm where family law is the whole practice, not a department.
